Kammler named CSC-NAIA First Team Academic All-American

Over his storied career, Aiden Kammler has put together various standard-setting times and records that will be remembered long after his career at Shawnee State.

So it would only be appropriate that Kammler finished his career as an All-American -- not just on the track, but off of it as well.

Kammler accomplished yet another rare feat Wednesday afternoon, as the senior became the first men's cross country and track and field athlete at Shawnee State to be recognized as a First-Team College Sports Communicators Academic All-American by national officials from the CSC.

Kammler blazes trail to all-time great career

A nationally-renown name who is also highly-regarded for his character, Kammler's accomplishments could be the subject of an autobiography on its own.

Overall, Kammler finished his Shawnee State career as the fastest runner in five different events and earned a school record seven NAIA All American honors with two NAIA National Runner-Up finishes in the indoor and outdoor 5,000 meter runs. The only runner in the NAIA to post three national top-15 standard track times in the outdoor track and field realm during the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field season, Kammler also won the River States Conference's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and the River States Conference's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year honors in 2024.

A recipient of the Shawnee State Male Athlete of the Year honor and a 2024 Portsmouth High School Hall of Fame inductee as well, Kammler won 16 events during his time at Shawnee State and was named as an all-conference honoree an incredible 27 times.

Kammler, who was a four-time academic all-conference honoree, a four-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete, and served a member of the Shawnee State Student-Athlete Advisory Board, graduated with honors (Cum Laude) with a bachelor's degree in plastics engineering technology in the spring, maintaining a GPA well above 3.65 in the process.
