SSU men's, women's golf programs to compete at Georgetown Invitational

The men's and women's golf programs at Shawnee State will head into competition together over the next two days as Dave Hopkins' and Holley Hart's programs will compete at the Georgetown Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Ky.

Along with Shawnee State and host Georgetown, Bluefield (Va.), Union Commonwealth (Ky.) and West Virginia Tech are listed as teams that will be competing from a team perspective in the event on the men's side.

On the women's side, SSU and Georgetown will be joined by Campbellsville in the Georgetown Invitational.

For the season opening Ted Barclay Invitational, the same six qualifiers who participated in the season-opening Ted Barclay Invitational in Granville, Ohio last weekend have qualified to represent Shawnee State on the men's side Monday and Tuesday:

As for the Shawnee State women, who will be participating in their season-opener Monday and Tuesday, the lineup is as follows:

  • Sidnea Belville (Fr., Ironton, Ohio/Ironton High School)
  • Cali Baird (Jr., Thornville, Ohio/Sheridan High School)
  • Aly Wellman (Soph., Wayne, W. Va./Wayne High School)
  • Brynna Spencer (Fr., Piketon, Ohio/Piketon High School)
  • Maggie Siley (Soph., Williamstown, W. Va./Williamstown High School)
