
SSU T&F programs release 2024-25 indoor, outdoor schedules
The men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field programs have released their 2024-25 indoor and outdoor schedules -- with the Bears planning to take part in a total of 19 meets between the indoor and outdoor seasons in a schedule that was released Monday.
Indoor rundown:
Shawnee State, who will begin the indoor season by sending its 5,000 meter runners to the Grand Valley State Holiday Open and its jumpers, throwers and sprinters to the Indiana Tech Warrior Open on Friday, Dec. 6, will also make repeat appearances at the Otterbein Invitational (Jan. 18) and the Wittenberg Steemer Showcase (Feb. 1)
New additions on the indoor side of the schedule include meets at the Marshall Alumni Classic (Jan. 11, Huntington, W. Va.), the Sixth Annual Al Campbell Invitational (Jan. 17, Akron, Ohio) and the two-day Fourth Jud Logan Light Giver Open (Feb. 7 and Feb. 8, Ashland, Ohio).
The two-day River States Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center on the campus of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15, while the three-day NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships move to the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe in Gainesville, Fla. and will be held from Thursday, Feb. 27 through Saturday, March 1.

Outdoor rundown:
Outdoor-wise, Shawnee State begins its season at the Cumberlands (Ky.) Early Spring Meet in Williamsburg, Ky. on Friday, March 14. That event, along with the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, which will be held on the campus of Muskingum University in Zanesville, Ohio, are the lone new stops for the Shawnee State women's and men's outdoor track and field programs.
The remaining events on the outdoor schedule -- the three-day Charlotte 49er Classic (Thursday, March 20 through Saturday, March 22, Charlotte, N.C.), the University of Charleston Golden Eagle Invitational (Friday, April 11), the two-day Lee University Fast Break Athletics Invitational (Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12), the Otterbein Twilight Meet (Friday, April 18), the Jesse Owens Classic (Friday, April 18) and the two-day Baldwin Wallace Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet (Thursday, May 8 and Friday, May 9) are all events that the Bears will return to in 2025.
Shawnee State will compete at the two-day River States Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Rio Grande on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 -- while the three-day NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships remain at Marion, Ind. and the Indiana Wesleyan University campus from Thursday, May 21 to Saturday, May 23.
