Overwatch Falls in Season Opener
Shawnee State's Overwatch 2 team played last night up against Shenandoah. Unfortunately, the Bears fell to Shenandoah 1 - 3. The match started off on Lijiang Tower for map one of the series. With a close first map ending in 1 - 2 victory for Shenandoah. The elimination leaders for the Bears were DPS Duo Zach Smith (gamertag: zsmitty2020) and Ben Palmieri (gamertag: Bas1lisk) both with seventeen eliminations each. Moving onto map two, we head to King's Row where the Bears start on the attack side first. They manage to take two points only a few meters from the full capture of the map. Shenandoah starts the second half out on attack where the Bears fail to hold, bringing it to a last fight scenario. They are unable to claim map two and fall, 2 - 3. The elimination Leader was once again DPS Smith with twenty. With tank Gaberiel Martinson (gamertag: Happy) just behind with 19. Map three took place on Circuit Royal where the bears strike back on the brink of defeat to take their first map win of the season. Martinson got the Play of The Game, for game three, as well as leading the Bears with 44 eliminations. DPS Palmieri trailed with a total of 40. Massive healing came out from the healers this game with Logan Betz (gamertag: DotBetz) healing 19,925 healing and Gavin Jones (gamertag: Zephyr) with 13,065 out healing both counterparts. Moving into the last map of the night, Colosseo, which is where this series ended with Shenandoah taking map four and the series. Martinson led the Bears with eleven eliminations, followed by Zach S. with nine. Smith also got the Play of The Game for map four. With the conclusion of that map the Overwatch 2 team loses their opening match.
