Rocket League Opens Spring Season With a Win

Monday night, SSU Rocket League opened the spring season with a NACE match against Lindenwood. The squad earned a comfortable 3 – 1 win in the best-of-five set.

Game one saw a clean 4 – 0 shutout for the squad. Kevin Keller, Jr. (gamertag: QuietKiller) took the offense with three goals to his name. PJ Fiscus (gamertag: Fisci25) earned one of his own, as well as one assist. Dyllan DeBruyne (gamertag: Duckworth) played the supporting role with three assists.

The Bears lost their momentum in game two, falling 2 – 3 after a late goal from the Lions broke through the tied game. DeBruyne and Keller both earned one goal and one save each. Fiscus played the aggressor, with two demolished opponents throughout the second game.

Game three saw another shutout win for the Bears, ending in a 4 – 0. Both Fiscus and DeBruyne were credited with two goals. Keller and Fiscus each had one assist for teammates, with Fiscus demolishing two opponents once again.

The squad was able to maintain their momentum to end the game in one last shutout. They earned a 3 – 0 win in game four. Keller was credited with two of the team's goals, with DeBruyne earning the third. DeBruyne assisted his teammate with both goals that weren't his own, while Fiscus assisted on the third. Keller took out their opponents twice in this exciting win.

Rocket League will return on February 5 for their next NACE season match. They face Converse beginning at 7:00 PM.
