League of Legends Swept in cLoL Opener

SSU League of Legends was swept by University of Iowa on Saturday. This tough loss opened the cLoL spring season for the Bears.

Game one was a 25-minute loss for the Bears, who earned only three eliminations as a unit. Two of those eliminations were credited to ADC player PoYun Quan (gamertag: ONAD), with the third going to Dustin Simpkins (gamertag: breadlofe). Simpkins and Brandon Reed (gamertag: SenpaiAtTheDisco) played supporting roles, with each player earning two assists. Chase Minor (gamertag: ArcticWolf) earned the most gold on the Bears side, with 8,260 to his name. Mid laner Aaron Allen (gamertag: Turtlestrike) dealt significantly more damage to his opponents than the rest of the Bears squad at 17,586—third most overall in the game.

The second game was a swift 21-minute loss for the Bears, who nabbed nine eliminations as a team. Kuan claimed the most on the squad, with four to his credit. Simpkins followed closely behind with three. Reed's support role suited him well in the second game, with four assists as Karma to lead the Bears side. Kuan and Allen were neck-and-neck for top damage on the SSU side, with 14,696 and 12,121, respectively.

Next up for League of Legends is another cLoL match, scheduled for February 1. The action against Kansas begins at 8:00.
