
Four named to All-RSC unit for SSU MBB; Harris, Germain named First-Team All-RSC recipients
The men's basketball program at Shawnee State had four men's basketball talents named to the All-River States Conference basketball lists that were released late Monday afternoon -- as 6-5 sophomore wing Chaze Harris and 6-5 senior forward Keith Germain were each named as First-Team All-River States Conference honorees, while 6-6 junior guard Tyreke Johnson (Second-Team All-RSC) and 5-10 junior guard Tre Beard (Third-Team All-RSC) were also named as all-conference recipients.
Chaze Harris -- First-Team All-RSC
In just 19 games as a second-semester eligible transfer, Shawnee State sophomore wing Chaze Harris was named as a First-Team All-RSC honoree in his first season eligible.
- Harris averaged 19.5 points per game and currently sits fifth in the River States Conference in scoring with that mark. He scored in double-figures in 18 out of the 19 contests between the regular season and the conference tournament.
- Assist-wise, Harris' 4.6 dimes per outing currently sits second in the River States Conference. Harris' 2.5 steals per game is also second in the RSC.
- Harris' one block per game sits tied for ninth among all River States Conference players.
- Harris also sits inside the top-15 of all players in the River States Conference, shooting 56.4 percent from the field.
- Between his time at Lakeland Community College and this past season at Shawnee State, Harris has scored 781 points in two seasons of college basketball with the national tournament slate potentially left this year. Harris has also posted 289 rebounds and 191 assists over his 45-game college career to date.
Keith Germain -- First-Team All-RSC
A 1,000-point scorer for his collegiate career, Shawnee State senior forward Keith Germain bumped up his Honorable Mention All-RSC status from last season at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to First-Team All-RSC billing during the 2023-24 season.
- Germain scored in double-figures in 20 out of his 29 contests en route to averaging 15.3 points and six rebounds per game.
- His 59.6 percent shooting mark is seventh among all conference talents.
- His 1.5 blocks per contest has Germain tied for fifth among all RSC players.
- Between Lakeland, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods and Shawnee State, Germain has scored 1,049 points, grabbed 528 rebounds and posted 119 blocks for his college career.
Tyreke Johnson -- Third-Team All-RSC
- Johnson scored in double-figures in 24 out of his 29 contests to post a 14.9 point-per-game average, while also adding in 6.1 rebounds.
- Johnson's three assists per game is tied for ninth overall in the River States Conference.
- Between Lakeland and Shawnee State, Johnson has notched 1,395 points, 502 rebounds and 214 assists for his collegiate career.
- With an 81.3 percent free throw shooting percentage, Johnson is tied for sixth in the RSC in free throw percentage.
Tre Beard -- Third-Team All-RSC
- Beard scored in double-figures in 18 out of his 28 contests played -- and has scored in double-figures in each out of his last eight affairs -- for a 12.1 point-per-game average.
- Beard is the conference leader in both three-point field goal shooting percentage (48.8 percent) and free throw shooting percentage (90 percent).
- Nationally, Beard sits seventh in free throw percentage and eighth in three-point field goal shooting percentage.
