SSU MBB has four named to RSC Scholar-Athlete Team; Lumsden named to RSC Champions of Character Team

The men's basketball program at Shawnee State produced four River States Conference Scholar-Athletes, with Tre Beard, Tyreke Johnson, J.R. Lumsden and Elkin Ramirez all making the list which was released by the River States Conference late Monday.

Johnson, who heads up the charge with a 3.86 GPA in business management, has 75 total hours of academic credit on his line. Lumsden, who currently holds a 3.81 GPA, is next on the list -- as he holds nearly 80 hours of academic credit as a business management major.

Ramirez and Beard, who each hold over 105 hours of academic credit, round out the list with GPAs of 3.72 and 3.57, respectively. Ramirez is a marketing major while Beard is focusing on business management.

Lumsden, in addition to his academic honors, was named as Shawnee State's Champions of Character representative on the River States Conference's Champions of Character list. He was selected to participate in the competitive Ohio Export Internship program through the Ohio Department of Development earlier this academic year.
