Clay, Heckman, Lauders named NAIA Scholar-Athletes
The men's bowling program at Shawnee State had three individuals recognized as NAIA Scholar-Athletes Wednesday, as Sam Clay, Ashton Heckman, and Parker Lauders were each bestowed with the NAIA's highest academic honor.
Heckman, who holds a 3.83 as a graphic design major, leads the way -- and has over 50 hours of academic credit on his line. Lauders, a computer engineering technology major, has a 3.79 GPA with over 65 hours of academic credit in all. Clay, who holds a 3.67 as an exercise science major, has more than 70 credit hours to his count.
All three individuals will be back as part of a men's bowling program that qualified for the Intercollegiate Team Sectionals for the second time in program history.
