Nine named Academic All-OBC for men's bowling

The men's bowling program at Shawnee State had nine individuals named as Academic All-OBC honorees with Sam Clay, Isaac Halter, Ashton Heckman, Zach Ison, Blake Landers, Parker Lauders, Brendan Major, Jakob Pelfrey and Andrew Schoener all earning academic honors from the conference's governing body.

By virtue of earning Academic All-OBC accolades, Clay, Heckman and Lauders notched a clean sweep of the academic awards available to obtain -- as the trio also collected NAIA Scholar-Athlete and National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA). Ison, Landers and Schoener each earned NCBCA honors for holding above a 3.5 as underclassmen.

Conference-wise, Isaac Halter's 3.46 GPA in business management, Jakob Pelfrey's 3.31 in business management and Brendan Major's 3.27 GPA in communications qualified the trio for Academic All-OBC billing along with the six previously mentioned bowlers.

For All-OBC qualification, all individuals, regardless of class, are eligible for Academic All-OBC honors if the individuals in question hold a 3.25 or better.
