SSU MSOC drops 3-0 decision to Spring Arbor (Mich.)

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- Despite a strong effort from the Shawnee State offensive and defensive fronts, which resulted in a scoreless deadlock at the halftime break, the Shawnee State men's soccer program wasn't able to seal a victory Saturday evening over a talented Spring Arbor Cougars' squad, as SSU fell to Spring Arbor, 3-0, in a nonconference contest that was held at Cougar Soccer Complex in Spring Arbor.

Shawnee State (1-3-1) was led by a solid defensive effort overall -- which saw senior goalkeeper Eric Green amass five saves in the contest against Spring Arbor (4-2).

The Bears ultimately took nine shots in the contest as a whole, with SSU putting five of its nine attempts on frame.

Shawnee State returns to action Wednesday evening when the Bears travel to Scudamore Stadium to face Cincinnati-Clermont in a nonconference matchup that will be held on the Northern Kentucky University campus in Highland Heights, Ky. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
