
Seven named as RSC Scholar-Athletes for men's soccer
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The men's soccer program at Shawnee State had seven individuals named as River States Conference Scholar-Athletes, according to an academic all-conference list put out by conference officials.
Three individuals, including Carson Jenkins, Eric Green and Matt Stam, all finished with GPAs above 3.5.
Carson Jenkins, who is a sport management major, led the way with a 3.94 GPA while Eric Green, who is a biomedical sciences major, followed with a 3.84 GPA mark. Matt Stam, a marketing major, made it three individuals above 3.5 for the Shawnee State men's soccer program as Stam nabbed a 3.77 GPA in marketing.
Four additional players, including Guilherme Bitencourt, Guillermo Conejo Martin, Marco Riva and Nikos Pontikis, all finished with GPAs above 3.25.
Bitencourt, who posted a 3.45 GPA, is a plastics engineering technology major while Guillermo Conejo Martin, who holds a 3.34 GPA, is an exercise science major. Marco Riva and Nikos Pontikis, who hold GPAs of 3.28 and 3.26 respectively, round out the list as business management majors.
