
SSU men’s, women’s swimming programs best Pikeville
In a Mid-South Conference swimming matchup, the Shawnee State men's and women's swimming squads defeated the Pikeville men's and women's swimming programs by scores of 121-67 (men) and 132-20 (women) to move their record to a 4-1 overall mark.
The SSU women swept several events including the 200 Medley Relay, the 100 Backstroke, the 500 Freestyle, the 200 Freestyle relay, and the 100 Breaststroke. The swimmer with the highest points were Shawnee State freshman Katie McCafferty and Shawnee State sophomore De-Nicha Lewis, who finished with 18 individual points each.
On the men's side, Shawnee State also produced with the men raking in several wins including sophomore swimmer Evan Bower in the 200 Freestyle (1:58.78), junior letterwinner Evan Siberell in the 100 Backstroke (1:03.85), and sophomore talent Evan Ater in the 100 Butterfly (1:01.28).
