Arva Purbo, Cristobal, Stanley lead SSU men's tennis' 4-3 victory over Indiana-East

PENDLETON, Ind. -- There are few things better than grinding out a victory against a conference opponent.

The men's tennis program at Shawnee State found a way to do just that Sunday evening -- as the Bears received strong efforts from Zinedine Arva Purbo, Daniel Cristobal and Adam Stanley among others in a 4-3 victory for SSU over River States Conference foe Indiana-East in the Bears' RSC opener at the Community Sports and Wellness Center in Pendleton, Ind.

"This was the first match on both sides that I saw all of the work that we've been putting in over the last six months come to fruition," Shawnee State women's and men's head tennis coach Greg Geremia said. "We're staying focused and not letting the little things get in our heads. Now, it's time to build on it."
