
Kammler named RSC Champions of Character honoree
Shawnee State senior Aiden Kammler continues to add to a legacy that will make the distance running talent a surefire SSU Hall of Famer in the upcoming years, as Kammler was named to the River States Conference's Champions of Character Team over the weekend.
Kammler, who participated in graduation ceremonies Saturday, will earn a bachelor's degree in plastics engineering technology and will finish with a GPA well above 3.6 with more than 145 hours of academic credit.
Athletically, Kammler's earned six NAIA All-American honors between cross country, indoor track and outdoor track so far with the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field nationals left and has won 10 individual conference championship events between the Mid-South Conference and River States Conference.
The senior has already qualified for the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, which will take place from Wednesday, May 22 to Friday, May 24 at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. based on his performances in the 10,000 meter run and the 5,000 meter run, which the Portsmouth High School graduate is ranked fifth and 10th in, respectively.
