SSU women's bowling sits 10th following opening day of Raider Classic

DAYTON, Ohio -- The women's bowling squad at Shawnee State, behind its total of 4,213 pins following the opening day of competition at the Raider Classic, currently sits 10th overall out of 17 teams at the Raider Classic in Dayton after the opening day of competition.

In dropping its 4,213-pin total following the opening day of competition, the Bears bested Wittenberg, Robert Morris, Tiffin, Thomas More, Ohio Northern, Campbellsville and Kent State-Tuscarawas.

Senior bowlers Hannah Rearick and Olyvia Bittner led Shawnee State once again -- as Rearick dropped 939 pins over her five game series for a 187.8 pin average to lead the charge. The Lebanon, Ohio native dropped 192 pins in Game 1, then nabbed 194, 184 and 223 pins in Games 3, 4 and 5 to continue building on a senior campaign that has been highly productive as per the norm for Rearick's career.

Just 27 pins back of Rearick, Bittner knocked down 912 pins to nab a 182.4 pin average over her series of games. Bittner posted her best game, as well as Shawnee State's best individual game, with a 224 in Game 4 to highlight her efforts.

Morgan Higgins' 211 in Game 1, Brooklyn Foose' 186 in Game 4 and Onesti Evans' 190 in Game 5 were among individual games that stood out for the Bears, while Emma Billenstein, Kylie Fowler and Maria Mara all competed for the Bears on the first day of the Raider Classic, as well.
