The Shawnee State Women's Soccer team would travel to Tennessee to play against the Yotes from the College of Idaho this past Monday, September 4th. The Bears would fall 9-0.
For the first half of the game, the Yotes took control from the first minute. Even though the Bears had the kickoff, the Yotes would win the ball and attack straight away, Maddie Smith scored for the Yotes. In the 4th minute, Madison Culp had the first shot for the Bears but this one would be saved by the keeper Hannah McFadden. Brianna Brudy had two shots for the Bears but both of them were saved by the Yotes' keeper. The Yotes would score three more goals in the first half in the 8th, 32nd, and 42nd minutes. The first half would end 4-0 for the College of Idaho.
The second half starts and the Bears would try to get back in the game, but nothing was working for them. Instead, the Yotes would score three more goals in just four minutes. The Bears would try to keep the Yotes from scoring more goals but in the 63 minute, Isabel DeVille scored for the Yotes, and the last goal of the game would come in the 69th minute by Gianna Yslava. For the game, the Bears would have a total of six shots, eleven saves, and no corners, while the Yotes would have thirty-seven shots, one save, and seven corners. The game would end 9-0 for the Yotes.
The Shawnee State Women's Soccer team will be back on the road to Tennessee next Sunday, September 16th to face the University of Cumberland TN, kick off at 2 P.M.
