Shawnee Picks up Second Straight Win

Saturday night, the Shawnee State women's soccer team traveled to Columbus, Indiana to face the Crimson Pride Indiana University Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC). The Bears take home the 8-0 victory for their second win of the season.

The Bears started the first half with two goals in the first 5 minutes of the game. The first goal was by Haynna Addy in the first minute and the second by Lucie Ashkettle in the 4th minute. Brianna Brudy scored the third goal for SSU in the 42nd minute. The Bears had complete control of the game in the first half with a total of 26 shots and the 3-0 lead.

Shawnee wasted no time and scored three goals in the first five minutes of the second half. Two goals came from freshman Annie Coriell and the other from Lucia Arbide. The score remained 6-0 for the next 21 minutes until Claire Favre put the ball in the back of the net from a corner kick. Frederica Ntumba scored the last goal for the Bears in the 80th minute. The game would end 8-0 for the Bears.

The SSU women's soccer will be back in action on Thursday afternoon, as they travel to Indiana to face the Red Wolves of  Indiana University East. The game starts at 5 PM.
