Bears Fight Till the End but Fall Short Against Pioneers.

The Shawnee State Women's soccer team, traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to face off against the Pioneers from Point Park University on Saturday afternoon/ A tight game hard fought game that ended 2-1 for the Pioneers.

The first half started, and both teams battled for the ball back and forth for the first 28 minutes. The first goal of the match was scored when Brianna Brudy crossed the ball and Annie Coriell headed it into the back of the net. The Bears had two more opportunities to score from corner kicks but had no luck to finish. The first half ended with a score of 1-0 for the Bears.

For the second half, the Pioneers scored their first goal from a penalty kick in the 52nd minute and capitalized, equalizing the game 1-1. The rest of the game was a battle between both teams to find the second goal and take the lead of the game. The Pioneers scored their second goal from a free kick outside of the Bears box, taking the lead of the game with only 15 minutes left. The game ended 2-1 for the Pioneers.

The Shawnee State women's soccer team will welcome West Virginia University Tech on Thursday afternoon at the Shawnee Turf, the game starts at 5 PM.
