Bears Claim Two in a Row

The Shawnee State women's soccer team concealed their second win of the week after traveling to Indiana to face Saint Marys-of-the-Woods College. The final score of the game was 2-0. 

From the kickoff, the Bears took control of the game and had four shots in the first ten minutes of the match. In the 14th minute of the game, Madison Culp took a shot from outside the box after a corner kick, but it hit the post. The first goal of the game came from the Bears in the 29th minute, when Lucy Snyder found the ball and put it in the back of the net. The Bears took the lead as the first half ended 1-0.

The second half started with a save from Julie Derenemesnil for the Bears. Both teams had chances to score, and the Bears found their second goal in the 79th minute after Brianna Brudy dribbled inside the box and put the ball in the back of the net. The Bears had a total of 11 shots on goal, and Derenemesnil had nine saves that helped the Bears finish with a clean sheet. The Bears brought home another win with a score of 2-0 as the second half ended.

The SSU women's soccer team will be back in action as they travel to Midway, Kentucky, to face off against the Eagles of Midway University. The game starts at 1 PM.
