The Shawnee State women's soccer team traveled to Midway, Kentucky, to face off against the Eagles of Midway University on Thursday afternoon. The Bears dominated the Eagles and defeated them with a score of 7-1.
Starting the first half, the Bears did not hold back and scored the first goal, 3 minutes into the game by Haynaa Addy, who was assisted by Robyn Drinkwater. The Bears found the back of the net four more times in the first half, with goals from Claire Favre, Frederika Ntumba, Drinkwater, and Addy. The Bears took the 5-0 score into the locker room as the first half ended.
For the second half, Aurie Coriell scored only two minutes into the second half for the sixth goal for the Bears. In the 60th minute, the Eagles scored their only goal of the game. Lucie Ashkettle found the back of the net in the 78th minute for the 7th and final goal for the Bears. The Bears ended with a 7-1 win that leaves them with a 5-3-1 record in the River States Conference.
The Shawnee State women's soccer will host Brescia on Saturday for Senior Night. The game starts at 7 PM. Come out early as we recognize seven Senior Bears.
