MARIETTA, Ohio -- The women's indoor track and field program got strong efforts Olivia Cisco and Beth Middleton in the 5,000 meter run, while the 4,000 meter distance medley relay unit of Cisco, Jessica Elick, Miranda Smith and Kirsten Evans also fared in a strong manner against RSC competition as Cisco and the 4,000 meter DMR unit each finished second while Middleton set a personal best in the 5,000 meter run in a point-scoring effort of her own to lead the Shawnee State women's track and field efforts following the opening day of the River States Conference Championships, which were held at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center in Marietta Friday evening.

Cisco, who was the team's top point-scorer on the day, posted an 18:07.91 to place second in the 5,000 -- while Middleton added in a personal best to finish sixth in the event as the duo combined for 11 of Shawnee State's 29 tallies on the evening in the 5,000.
