Cisco nabs 11th in 5,000 meter national prelims, qualifies for national finals in 5,000 meter run; Brammer notches 18th in 3,000 meter racewalk

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- One of Shawnee State's best distance runners in recent memory is at it again -- and her resume continues to grow along with it.

Olivia Cisco finished inside the top-12 of the 5,000 meter run national preliminaries Thursday afternoon -- setting a time of 17:41.60 to advance to the 2025 NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field National Finals in the 5,000 meter run as Shawnee State women's indoor track and field's national championship representative in that event.

Cisco, who ran a 17:41.60, finished seventh in the second heat -- and obtained one of the four fastest times of individuals not inside the top four in both heats in the process -- to move onto Saturday's national final, which commences at 3:55 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The junior cleared the 13th place time by nearly four full seconds -- and in doing so, cemented her status as one of the most skilled distance runners in the country once again.

Earlier in the day, Natalie Brammer also represented Shawnee State by competing in the 3,000 meter racewalk. Brammer, a junior from nearby Wheelersburg, finished above her seeding as well -- placing 16th with a 18:44.10 in the event.

Updates on the distance medley relay preliminaries on the men's indoor track and field side of the coin -- an event that Isaiah Lanoy, Trevor Lanoy, Cody Hesler and Dylan French are competing in -- will be coming later Thursday, as that event commences at 5:45 p.m.
