
Cisco finishes 22nd in 10,000 meter run in first NAIA National Championship appearance
In her first NAIA National Championship appearance, sophomore distance runner Olivia Cisco capped off a strong campaign by finishing one spot better than her overall seeding heading into the 10,000 meter run, finishing the event in 22nd place to represent the Shawnee State women's track and field program in a strong manner on Day 1 of the NAIA Women's Track and Field National Championships, which are being held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
Cisco, who ran a time of 38:50.86, capped off a season where she improved on or set her personal bests in seven out of her last nine meets between the indoor and outdoor track seasons, setting the talented Waverly High School graduate up for greater accolades in the future.
Overall, Cisco, since Feb. 17, has set personal bests in the following:
One mile: 5:42.41
800 meter run: 2:33.72
1,500 meter run: 5:05.98
3,000 meter run: 10:29.51
5,000 meter run: 17:58.43
10,00 meter run: 37:32.79

The women's track and field program at Shawnee State will be represented again on the third and final day of the NAIA Women's Track and Field National Championships Friday afternoon, when Haidyn Wamsley competes in the high jump at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. Wamsley finished the regular season and conference championship action with the 22nd best high jump mark nationally in the event.
